  Mad Sweeney, I loved the Tao of Pooh. Read it a few year after I left the Watchtower. At that time it was pretty much a new book. It contains some very good info on how to live your life.

  Back to the subject (great topic by the way)... It his hard to limit it to three but I think I could have pretty good time with Dave Lister from Red Dwarf, Ford Prefect from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Ebenezer Scrooge.

  if you aren't annointed then why go to the memorial.

  you can reject christ's offer in the comfort of your own home.

  rent a movie and have some popcorn instead of attending another boring meeting..

  15 million assholes (and a few good people) are looking at us like we are the scum of the earth tonight and reveling in their ill concieved little celebration of something that they can't even begin to comprehend.. .

  HOME FROM THE MEH-MORIAL....GETS WORSE EVERY YEAR.....

  well, i walked in and got the love-bombing before i even made it past the foyer.

  everyone's missed me, everyone's thrilled that i came, blah, blah, blah.

  to be fair though, there were a few there that i do miss so it was nice to see them.

  I'm glad you had fun Mary. That's what life is all about.

  Just kidding. Sorry you had to waste your evening. My wife is at hers as we speak. I hope they keep getting worse and maybe she will stop going. I haven't been in over 30 years. In fact I think last year was my 30 not going anniversary. I should have done something to celebrate. I went to a very nice Palm Sunday service today at my church.

  i would ask that those who are non-believers please respect the beliefs of others today.

  thank you in advance.. for two millenia since christ's death, christians all over the world have been participating in what is known as the the last supper.

  Happy Memorial Everyone...........ummm...... hooray?

  umm...... many jws i know always state how the memorial observance is the only thing that we "celebrate", but for the life of me, i can't remember our family doing any kind of celebrating other than going to the kingdom hall and passing a plate of crackers and some carlo rossi wine around.

  but maybe that was just my family.. has anyone else back in the day remember having any actual festivities?.

  I think at one time we used to go to a restaurant after with other Jdubs but I think the WT might have discouraged it.

  What amazing stories of their crazy behavior. I think anyone who is thinking of becoming a JW should be encouraged to go a Kingdom Hall and anounce themselves as a former JW so they can get a first hand taste of how you are treated if you ever leave it.
